Welcome to St. Peter’s Anglican Church
Welcome to all who seek a Family. St. Peter’s is committed to growing the Family of God the Anglican Way: Scripture, Tradition, and Reason. Expressing God’s love for us in all we do and say. All are welcome to worship with us. We are a traditional Anglican Church with the Eucharist (The Lord’s Supper) as the focus of our Sunday Worship.
We are a Parish of the Reformed Episcopal Church, a founding member of the Anglican Church in North America.
Our Leadership
Stephen Atchison
Pastor
Stephen graduated from the Williamson Free School of Mechanical Trades in 2012, Neumann University in 2015, and Cranmer Theological Seminary in 2022. He was ordained to the Diaconate in 2023 and the Presbyterate in 2024. Stephen and his wife Sarah have served at St. Matthew’s in Havertown, St. Paul’s in Oreland, and now have found a home at St. Peter’s here in Elkton. Pastor Stephen, his wife Sarah, and son Ronan live in Pennsylvania along with their dog, Mallory. They enjoy spending time outdoors, especially hiking, kayaking, and the Jersey shore.
Christian Jones
Intern
Christian is a Philadelphia native and postulant within the REC. He is a graduate of Cabrini University and currently a senior in the MDiv program at Reformed Episcopal Seminary. In his leisure, he enjoys quality time with his fiancé, Sadie, and their beloved cat Caroline (fuzz bucket). His door is always open to discuss theology, sports, and music.

Thelma Mae Jackson Nuble
of Chesapeake City Maryland
October 12, 1921 - June 10, 2026
Thelma Nuble peacefully passed away at home on June 10, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, Harry & Minnie Jackson, her brothers Lawrence, Harry and Leon Jackson, her sister Mary Watson and her husband, Bennett Nuble.
Thelma devoted her life to raising children and making loving homes. Over the years, Thelma cared for several children. In March of 1951, Thelma watched Eddie Bailey from the moment he was born until he was twelve years old. In 1963, She joined Kip & Caroline duPont at Great House Farm to care for their three children, Colt, Ginny & Lairsey. In 1999, Thelma's final charge, Kip Suarez was born. She took great pride in those she helped raise and spoke of them all so highly. Thelma always had a warm hand to hold and a listening ear for all who knew her. Affectionately known as "Nanny," she was a true source of endless love, joy and care, with a sharp wit and a wealth of stories, along with a fly swatter. Laughter, love, ice cream and crab balls filled her world and in turn she was a blessing to all who knew her.
At 104 years, Thelma was celebrated as the oldest living graduate of the Elkton Colored School (renamed George Washington Carver School). She is survived by many family members, friends and children whose lives she touched throughout her years.

Outreach & Events
Community Outreach and Events are another important aspect of church life. We provide seasonal help to families in need. We also host get-togethers and other events on a regular basis, such as fish fries, bake sales, yard sales, and picnics.
Special Events
Fr. Stephen Atchison was formally affirmed as pastor of St. Peter’s Anglican Church, May 10, 2026 with following reception. Archdeacon Jon Abboud officiated. Rev. Frank Spadafora Rev. John Campbell, Rev. Jerry McLynn and Christian Jones were co-celebrants.
Celebrations
Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Edward Steube on their marriage blessing ceremony April 26, 2026 at St. Peter's Anglican Church. Rev. Frank Spadafora officiated at the blessing ceremony with the congregation present. It was a lovely service and reception. Sandi and Ed were married at the old courthouse in Historic New Castle the week before.
